Independent Disability Services response to COVID-19
Independent Disability Services (IDS) is committed to ensuring our clients and staff remain safe during this challenging time. Below is important information regarding how we are managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Australian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the IDS Executive Team have developed a detailed response to the pandemic to ensure our clients and staff remain looked after.
Social distancing practise of 1.5 meters at all times.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) continues to be available to all our staff.
IDS encourage all clients and staff to download and register for the COVIDSafe App.
Clients and staff are encouraged to practise good hygiene, i.e. hand washing, covering sneezes and regular sanitisation.
All IDS staff have completed additional Infection Control training specific to COVID-19 provided by the DHHS.
Staff are to phone ahead to advise if they are experiencing symptoms of the virus or feeling even mildly unwell.
All our staff are reimbursed for influenza (flu) vaccinations.
IDS staff have access to a basin, hand soap, paper towel and/or hand dryer to wash and dry hands.
We have ample stock of hand sanitisers available for all our staff to use.
Our staff and clients receive pertinent communication regarding COVID-19 updates.
